Formosa Pacific Trading Co. is a small, but growing b2b souvenir giftware business based in Taipei, Taiwan. I started this business several years ago due to what I believed was the poor quality and selection of souvenir gift items available in Taiwan for both tourists and business travelers alike. Formosa Pacific specializes in designing & manufacturing unique, useful and meaningful gift items relating directly to Taiwan history & culture. These are items that no one else has ever thought of and I believe exactly what international visitors would like to purchase. An added benefit is that these items make Taiwan tourist area gift shops look much more creative, upscale and fun.

The inspiration for many of the products that I designed came from working on my first Taiwan cultural project, taipics.com. Taipics was an online database of over 15,000 vintage Taiwan images from the Japanese era which became a very popular online educational resource for over two decades (1995 ~ 2019). I hold several design patents and business licenses and qualified for a grant by the Taipei City government, but, alas, covid got in the way and the Taiwan government would not renew my visa.
